How to use HabitualStudies

A quick tour of every page and what it's for.

Getting started

  1. Add your subjects first

Open Subjects and add the classes or topics you're studying. Each one gets a color that's used everywhere else in the app, tasks, schedule blocks, notes, and timer sessions.

  2. Add tasks as they come up

Go to Tasks, type what you need to do, pick a subject and (optionally) a due date, then add it. Check items off as you finish them, that's also what keeps your streak alive.

  3. Block out time on your Schedule

Use Schedule to plan study blocks for the week. Pick a day, time, subject, and title. It's a simple weekly planner, not a calendar sync, so it's just for you.

  4. Study with the Timer

Open Timer, choose a subject, and start a focus session (it defaults to a Pomodoro-style countdown). Finished sessions are logged automatically, so your study time actually adds up over time.

  5. Jot things down in Notes

Use Notes for quick class notes, reminders, or summaries, tagged by subject so they're easy to find later.

  6. Check your Dashboard

The Dashboard pulls everything together. Today's tasks, upcoming schedule items, and your overall progress, so it's a good first stop each time you open the app.

What to know:

  • Everything is saved locally in your browser (no account, no server). Your data stays on this device, in this browser, and clearing your browser data will erase it.
  • Because it's local, the same browser will remember your data next time you visit, but a different browser or device starts empty.
  • Your streak counts any day you add a task, finish a timer session, or otherwise use the app. It resets if a day is skipped.
  • Deleting a subject also clears its progress, but leaves past tasks and notes in place,  they'll just show as "General."
